Caregiver University: Caregiver Stress Management

November 1 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm MDT

Has your family been touched by Alzheimers disease and/or dementia? Here is help in a friendly and informal atmosphere. Alzheimers disease and dementia have traditionally been considered taboo topics in everyday conversation. However, as more and more Americans receive these diagnoses, the need for education, support, and resources is growing. People providing care for others are at a high risk for burnout and unmanaged stress. Join us to discuss the effects of stress, steps that you can take to reduce your risk of caregiver burnout, and practice techniques to improve your overall well-being. IU Health Alzheimer’s Educator Dayna Thompson will address these needs in a way that helps caregivers feel connected, knowledgeable, and capable of supporting their loved one. Lunch will be provided free by the IU Health Alzheimers Resource Service. The class is free, but registration is required. Register by calling the library at 812-275-4471.
