Designing Wooden Quilt Blocks

Designing and painting wooden quilt blocks or ‘barn quilts’ has become increasingly popular in many parts of the country and in Lawrence County. Join John Castrale for a workshop that will focus on taking a design and scaling it to any size block. Participants will gain experience in determining the grid size of a design and recognizing geometric designs. Tips will be provided on scaling designs to fit any size of block and drawing designs based on geometric shapes. Paper, pencils, and rulers will be provided in order for attendees to practice copying a wide variety of designs. This workshop is offered twice on Saturday, January 19—once from 12-2 pm and once 2 pm-4 pm. Please register for the session that best fits your schedule.
