Rupp will highlight species to look for in our area, including which species you can find in your backyard and where you can go to see other migrating birds. Gain some tips and tricks for identifying these species and learn how and why they migrate in the first place. This talk will also show you how you can turn your little bit of the earth into a sanctuary for birds: what you can do to attract birds to your yard, types of bird food to offer, and how native plants can attract birds at different times of year. Rupp is the owner of IndiGo Birding Nature Tours (indigobirding.com), a local business focused on connecting people with nature via kayak trips, birding tours, and classes. He previously served for three years as the president of Sassafras Audubon Society and has worked in environmental education and bird research throughout his career.
